About Us

Rats have always gotten a bad name, but since I was a child I was able to look past that. I wanted a pet rat in the worst way.
My first two rats were given to me by a coworker when I was 18 years old. She said she didn't have time for them anymore and would be willing to give them to me if I promised them a good home.  As I took them out of the carrier they both crawled onto me and started giving me kisses and I instantly fell in love.
Unfortunately since I took them in at an older age, Claire went to the Rainbow Bridge a little less than a year of me having her. Alice went on for another two years before she developed a massive tumor on the side of her face and the veterinarian said it was best if we helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge.
When I was ready to bring another home, I searched the internet for someone with rats and found a woman who had baby rats for sale. I ended up with two more females, Annie and Nora, and upon getting them home I discovered they were covered in mites from poor care. After a long treatment and lots of frustration, I knew the next time I brought rats home I'd have to be extra cautious of who I got my babies from.
When I was ready to bring more into my life, I decided to try going through an actual breeder. Every breeders page I went on hadn't been updated, or they only had contact by email and they didn't respond to them. That's when I decided I was going to breed adorable, healthy rats while making sure to give quality customer service. That's when Brat Rats Rattery was born.
At Brat Rats Rattery, we make sure your babies leave our care healthy and friendly. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email us. If you call and we do not answer, leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
